Mixing file formats within a sliced image

Some Web graphics contain photographs, vector or bitmap art, animations, areas of solid color, and text within a single image.

Slicing the image makes it possible to export some parts of an image as GIFs and other parts as JPEGs.

For more information about choosing various file formats, color palettes, and other optimization settings for slices within a single image, see Specifying optimization settings for slices.
